Student Involvement
Delta Gamma, Gamma Rho is a chapter that strives for diversity, and our campus involvement perfectly displays the various interests that our women have. Gamma Rho’s women represent a variety of academic interests, ranging from Business & Finance to Theatre & Dance. There are Math majors, Psychology majors, and majors from the Art, Education, Sociology, English, and Nursing, to name a few. The various departmental specializations allow us to seek help from our sisters for any class we may be struggling with, which is always helpful! We also strive and are very proud to announce our involvement on campus.
Outside of our academics, Gamma Rho women are members of nearly a dozen different campus sports teams, including Lacrosse, Soccer, Tennis, Track and Field, Softball, Basketball, Swim and Dive, Cheerleading, Field Hockey and Rugby. There is never a shortage of events to attend to support our athletes and show our DG love! There is even more involvement in campus organizations: Union Board (the group that plans campus-wide events), Class Presidents who sit on Student Senate, Class Cabinet, the Student Alumni Board, Honor Council, WUSO (the campus radio station), the student dance company, theatre productions, and many more organizations are represented within our chapter. There are also writers for the school newspaper (The Torch), tour guides, community service interns, Orientation Assistants for new students, honor society members from various educational departments, and many women who have jobs all across campus. Almost anywhere you go at Wittenberg, you can find a Delta Gamma who is in some way involved.
We also participate in Survivor Africa, a fundraiser for the Lesotho, Africa trip. Some of the members of Gamma Rho have made the journey to Africa, where they helped to build houses and donated clothes to the people in need. Many of our chapter members give back to our community, whether its participating in Survivor Africa or saving marine life in Fiji. We love to support our campus and community by participating in these and other events, especially by supporting other Greek chapters at their philanthropic events throughout the year!
